Uniqueness of Semilinear Elliptic Inverse Problem
We consider the uniqueness of the inverse problem for a semilinear elliptic differential equation with Dirichlet condition. The necessary and sufficient condition of a unique solution is obtained. We improved the results obtained by Isakov and Sylvester (1994) for the same problem.
متن کاملOn the uniqueness of positive solution of an elliptic equation
This work deals with the uniqueness of positive solution for an elliptic equation whose nonlinearity satisfies an specific monotony property. In order to prove the main result, we employ a change of variable used in previous papers and the maximum principle.

We are concerned with the behavior of u near x = O. There are two distinct cases: 1) When p >= N / ( N -2) and (N ~ 3) it has been shown by BR~ZIS & V~RON [9] that u must be smooth at 0 (See also BARAS & PIERRE [1] for a different proof). In other words, isolated singularities are removable. 2) When 1-< p < N / ( N 2) there are solutions of (1) with a singularity at x ---0. Moreover all singula...
متن کاملUniqueness of positive solution for a class of semilinear elliptic systems
We are concerned with the uniqueness and existence of positive solutions for the following problem: ∆u+ λv1 = 0, x ∈ D, ∆v + λw2 = 0, x ∈ D, ∆w + λu3 = 0, x ∈ D, u = v = w = 0, x ∈ ∂D, where pi > 0(i = 1, 2, 3) and D is a smooth domain in R. If D is a ball in R, we prove the uniqueness of positive radially symmetric solution.

where K(x)μC2,b(V9 ), a, pμ(0, 1) and l is a real parameter. Such singular elliptic problems arise in the contexts of chemical heterogeneous catalysts, nonNewtonian fluids and also the theory of heat conduction in electrically conducting materials, see [3, 5, 8, 9] for a detailed discussion. Obviously (1.1) cannot have a solution uμC2(V9 ) if K(x) is not vanishing near ∂V. However, under variou...
